Faculty of Applied Arts Al-Salam University in Egypt, is distinguished by integrating more than one scientific discipline of a common nature in one department, such as the Department of Fashion and Ornaments, and this is what distinguishes us from other universities
Dean’s Word
My dear students,
In a world reshaped each day by image, line, form, and color, applied arts emerge as the deeper language that transcends appearances, speaking to the essence of humanity and engaging society through creativity-disciplined by knowledge and enlightened by technology.
The disciplines of your college-Jewelry and Fashion, Interior Design and Furniture, Advertising and Animation-are not taught within the confines of classrooms as abstract theories. They are translated in workshops, laboratories, and field projects into living experiences that anchor academic concepts and activate them in practice. We do not teach you merely to draw lines on paper, but to shape a vision, build an idea, and create an aesthetic and functional solution that responds to human needs and anticipates future aspirations.
Studying at the Faculty of Applied Arts is not only a path of knowledge but also a journey of inquiry and application, reflection and execution, analysis and innovation. Jewelry is not simply ornament, but identity crafted through cultural and technological expertise. Fashion is not a fleeting trend, but a visual discourse reflecting the spirit of the age. Interior design is not merely furnishing a space, but shaping environments that embrace human beings both psychologically and functionally. Advertising is the language of influence and communication, while animation is the visual platform for limitless imagination.
We believe that true distinction is not achieved through narrow specialization, but through conscious openness to interdisciplinary integration, where arts intersect and disciplines converge. This grants students a holistic understanding of the design process and enables them to produce integrated work that connects beauty, meaning, technology, and social context.
We prepare you to be the designers of the future, embodying the character of the reflective artist: one who possesses aesthetic vision, human sensitivity, analytical ability, and technical competence. One who knows how to transform ideas into products, dreams into projects, and information into visual solutions that enrich rather than consume culture.
Let every lecture be a step toward experimentation, every project a chapter in your professional journey, and every line you draw on paper a promise of a concept to be realized. You are preparing not only to enter the labor market, but to shape it and lead it.
Be what you dream of becoming… and even more.
