Internal Regulations of the Faculty of Nursing AL SALAM UNIVERSITY
Core Values
With consideration of Egyptian societal values and principles, the core values of student ethics can be formulated as follows:
• Full commitment to moral principles, honesty, and integrity in all words and actions; refraining from obtaining benefits that are not rightfully his/her own, and avoiding any attempt to place colleagues in difficult situations for unethical personal gain.
• Treating others with due respect, as mutual respect is essential in interpersonal relations. Society honors individuals according to their age, position, and social status, as well as their relationship to the student. In return, students should also be given appropriate attention and should never be ridiculed for their words or actions; instead, they should be guided in a proper educational manner.
• Having a genuine willingness to listen to different ideas and opinions.
• Considering the possibility of being mistaken or being open to changing one’s own viewpoint.
• Being able to comprehend and appreciate the ideas presented by instructors, as they serve as models and role figures for students.
• Discipline means adherence to established rules; it provides self-control and the ability to act responsibly while holding oneself accountable for any mistakes.
• Working within a team requires letting go of selfishness and self-centeredness.
• Teamwork helps improve one’s ability to cooperate with others, boosts morale, fosters friendships, and enhances communication. Every student can benefit personally from participating in teamwork. When students work together on a task, they should listen to each other, clarify ideas, and use genuine constructive criticism to make their collaboration effective.
• A sense of responsibility must become an integral part of the student’s character, as responsible individuals can be trusted and relied upon. Therefore, it is essential to cultivate this sense of responsibility among students, so they become aware of what they are capable of doing and what lies beyond their capacity.
