Bachelor’s Degrees
Al-Salam University, based on the recommendation of the Faculty Council, awards a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts in the following specialized programs:

The university reserves the right to introduce new academic programs, confer additional Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Arts, and establish professional diplomas in departmental specializations for a one-year duration, aligned with labor market requirements and institutional regulations.
System of Study
The university operates under the Credit Hour System. Courses are conducted in English or Arabic according to the specific requirements of the academic program.
Teaching Methodologies
- Practical Courses: Conducted via the traditional on-campus system.
- Theoretical Courses: Delivered via the Online Learning system.
- Hybrid Education: Utilized during emergencies or exceptional circumstances.
Departmental councils determine the optimal teaching and evaluation methods for each course to ensure the development of creative and innovative skills as specified in the graduate profile.
Academic Year and Duration
The academic year typically begins in the third week of September and concludes in August of the following year, or as mandated by the Supreme Council of Universities.
Degree Requirements
- Credit Hours: Successful completion of 144 credit hours.
- Minimum Duration: 4 academic years (8 main semesters and 2 optional summer semesters), provided the CGPA is not less than 3.0.
- Maximum Duration: 10 academic years.
Academic Advising
Each student is assigned an Academic Advisor (with a maximum of 25 students per advisor) to monitor performance, assist in course selection, and provide support throughout the study period.
Registration Procedures
Types of Registration
- Early Registration: Opens two weeks before the academic year for returning students and during orientation for new students.
- Regular Registration: Occurs at the start of each semester via the advisor.
- Late Registration: Allowed within one week of the regular period, subject to a late fee.

Grading and Evaluation System
Students must obtain at least 30% of the final exam grade and 60% of the total course marks to pass.

Special Status Symbols
- W Withdrew: Course dropped within the permitted period (does not affect GPA).
- I Incomplete: Exam missed due to an accepted excuse.
- DN Denied: Denied from the course due to exceeding 25% absence.
- NE No Excuse: Absent from the final exam without an excuse.
Practical and Field Training
Applied Arts students must complete practical training to bridge the gap between academic study and the industry:
- Level 1 Training: Internal training within the faculty during the summer break.
- Field Training: At least 2 external training periods for a minimum of two weeks each year.
- Completion of training is a mandatory requirement for graduation.
Graduation Requirements
The Bachelor’s degree is awarded upon fulfilling the following:
- Achieving a CGPA of at least 2.00.
- Clearing all failing grades in compulsory courses.
- Completion of 144 credit hours within 4 to 10 years.
- Successful completion of required summer training programs.
Administrative Services
- Admissions: Handling SIS registration and degree equivalency.
- Student Affairs: Issuing enrollment documents, processing medical excuses, and military deferment.
- Alumni Affairs: Issuing final degree certificates and internship documentation.
